In celebration of “Florida Behavior Analysis Week,” FSU’s Early Childhood Autism Program (ECAP) and the Emerald Coast Association for Behavior Analysis (ECABA) are hosting a community meet and greet 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, at the ECAP Clinic Parent Resource Center (FSU Panama City Technology Building).
Florida State University Panama City is fully operational and will be open on Tuesday, Sept. 6, as scheduled. In addition, the Library and Learning Center is open during normal operating hours of noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, and Sunday, Sept. 4.
Florida State University Panama City classes and administrative offices will remain open Sept. 1, 2016. There are no plans for campus closures at this time. Members of the University community are urged to monitor the FSU Panama City homepage, the Emergency Information Hotline at 850-770-2000 and local media for updates concerning University activities and operations that could potentially be impacted by the storm.
FSU Panama City’s freshman class officially joined the Florida State community Sunday, Aug. 28, during the campus’s Freshman Convocation. Surrounded by family, friends, faculty and staff, 16 new students were called one by one to be robed as Florida State Seminoles.

FSU Panama City welcomes Dr. Randy Hanna, interim dean to campus. [Sally McRorie, provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs at FSU] has appointed Randy Hanna as interim dean, effective Aug. 1. Hanna currently serves as a research faculty member at the university’s Learning Systems Institute and previously served as chancellor of the Florida College System.
Carol D. Edwards, who has served since August as dean of Florida State University’s Panama City campus and the College of Applied Studies, will step down from the post Aug. 1 to join the faculty of the FSU College of Fine Arts. Randy Hanna will serve as interim dean, effective Aug. 1.
About 90 area ninth- and 10th-grade students participated this week in the STEM Institute’s summer camps at FSU Panama City. Last week, more than 100 seventh and eighth graders attended the camp, which rotates through 50-minute sessions focused on marine life, robotics, chemistry, 3D printing and electronics.
