Summary: FSU Panama City will host an interest meeting for Girls Who Code, a national organization that aims to close the gender gap in STEM careers, at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in the Holley Academic Center. All middle- and high-school girls are welcome to join. No coding experience is necessary, and past members are welcome.
Lisa Wingate, author of the New York Times best-seller “Before We Were Yours,” will share the true story that inspired her novel at FSU Panama City’s Fall Festival of Readers and Writers 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in the Bland Conference Center. The event also will include sessions hosted by novel-to- film writers Corinda Marsh and Robert Cvornyek, and romantic suspense novelist Kathy Holzapfel (Cate Noble).
Tuition and fee payment deadline has been extended until the university reopens.
Florida State University Panama City will be closed Friday, September 8 through Tuesday, September 12 at the direction of the governor in advance of Hurricane Irma.
Dean Randy Hanna will be honoring Bay county community leaders Jimmy Patronis and Jerry Smithwick and presenting scholarships to the seven siblings adopted by the Olds family of Marianna during a faculty/staff symposium to be held 12:30 p.m. Thursday, August 17 in the Holley Academic Center lectureship.
